Lagoa do Albufeira "looks" attractive, nice lagoon, 40 minutes from Lisbon, but it is usually very disappointing. Unless you like paddleboard then it's a great spot to go to. The wind is good only if it's North West or West, and still, because of the sand dune, the wind is never really good. All other directions do not get in well.
Don't try going out on the sea side either, the shore break is rough, and there is strong currents. To ride on the sea side, you are much better off choosing Fonte da Telha, Praia Nova Vaga or Praia Bela Vista.

Lagoa do Albufeira can work all year and the water temperature is good: a full body wetsuit is recommended as there can be some jelly fish.
Best wind conditions are West and North West winds.
Usually the wind does not get in so well. It is a nice spot for flat water only.
The local kitesurf school is Meira Pro Center.
Access to the beach is easy from the parking location.
There are no showers available.
There are no lifeguards on the beach.
