Troia Peninsula

The blue paradise...

The Troia Peninsula is a gem. Not easily accessible as we have to go across by Ferry. It is a 30 minutes ferry ride from the city of Setubal which itself is a 40 minutes drive from Lisbon. The sand beach is amazing with its sand banks just in front. Access is not easy: there is a lot of walking involved as the beach zone is protected and you have to walk through the resorts and the boardwalks. It works great with winds from West and North West. It is also one of the rare spots which works by South-West.

Troia works all year and the water temperature is good until November with a wetsuit.

Best wind conditions are West and North West winds although it also works with South-West.

There are no shops and no schools in Troia.

Access to the beach is a long walk from the parking location.

There are no showers available.

There are no lifeguards on the beach.

Be cautious and know your basic safety. Preferably go out with a group.
