Cabanas de Tavira is a perfect spot for beginners. It is located in the Algarve on a long sand beach enclosing a lagoon. There is ample space, very little chop and nearly no shore break. The wind is steady and mostly side-on. Overall conditions are great for beginners and lessons.

Cabanas de Tavira work all year and the temperature is good: a full body wetsuit is recommended. Best period is from March to October.
Best wind conditions are from March to October with 12-16 knots South West winds which is very reliable
The rest of the year can provide some East or South East wind.
Note that Side-Off wind is not recommended and the wind can be very unstable.
The local kitesurf school is Kitesurf Eolis and Sandra is one of the best teachers in Portugal.
Access to the beach requires crossing the lagoon by boat, it costs about 1,5€ for two ways.
You will need to park nearby the location of the taxi boats.
There are no showers available.
There are no lifeguards on the beach.
